When talking about Prostate Cancer Therapy one often thinks it also means prostate cancer treatment. Therapy is a term more often used in the alternative treatment of cancer rather than the medical world though in the medical world you have hormone therapy prostate cancer treatments. However with advances in medical treatments for prostate therapy and hormone therapies for prostate cancer you are seeing the term being used in all aspects of prostate cancer therapy.

word "therapy" comes from the Greek "therapeia" which means "a service, an attendance" which, in turn, is related to the Greek verb "therapeuo" meaning "I wait upon." Therapy was (and is) a service done to the sick. In this sense therapy would refer to the treatment of disease. And is synonymous with treatment.

Treatment on the other hand is more specific and refers to the act , manner, method, etc. of treating, or dealing with, a person, thing, subject in art or literature, etc. and medical, surgical, or cosmetic care. When talking about prostate cancer therapy it does not get applied to surgical procedures and is more that actually range of ways the cancer is treated.

New Prostate Cancer Therapy Treatments

Modern medicine is advances rapidly in the treatment of prostate cancer. There are three cancer new treatment in the orthodox realm for prostate therapy including High Frequency Ultra Sound (HIFU), Cryotherapy and Photodynamic Therapy.

High Frequency Ultrasound (HIFU) is a relatively new way to treat cancer, and is a non-invasive treatment that minimises side effects and preserves patient quality of life.  Photodynamic Therapy uses light, and has been used to treat other forms of cancer, mainly in the head and neck.

Cryotherapy uses freezing probes to kill the cancerous cells within the prostate. There is also hormone therapy prostate cancer which uses drugs for the treatment of balancing hormones particularly testosterone.

While the above new prostate cancer therapy treatments are considered alternative, that is alternative to surgery, radiation and chemotherapy there are also the prostate cancer alternative therapies that fall under the realm of the more natural, non invasive health care world.
